Docs · Connect

Connect an MCP client.

Create an agent in Limits, choose a space, then point your compatible client at the MCP server.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "limits": {
      "url": "/mcp"
    }
  }
}

The endpoint uses the deployment’s configured public origin. For local testing, set PUBLIC_ORIGIN to the Pages development origin.

1. Add an agent

In the dashboard, add the agent to a space. The space preset becomes the starting access policy; review it before connecting.

2. Add the endpoint

Use the Limits MCP endpoint in the client’s server settings. Client-specific setup varies by product and version.

3. Review access

When a client requests a protected item, Limits evaluates the grant and may ask you to approve the item before the read proceeds.

Using Limits with several accounts of one app

You can connect multiple accounts from the same agent app to one Limits account. Sign in to each app account, connect each one to Limits separately, and give each connection a distinct agent name such as “Grok Bot · personal” and “Grok Bot · work”. Assign them to the right space and review each grant independently. Limits-to-Limits account linking is not part of this release.
